👉 1.1. Polishing: is the process of smoothing the surface of molds and mold components to reduce roughness and increase glossiness. Through the use of specialized tools and advanced techniques, polishing technicians remove scratches, burrs, or unwanted particles from the mold surface. The ultimate goal is to create a smooth surface, ensuring that the final molded product has a high-quality finish and is free of defects.

👉 1.2. Benefits of Mold Polishing:
✔️ Improves Product Quality: One of the most significant factors influencing product quality is the mold surface. If the molding tool is not thoroughly polished, the final product is prone to defects such as scratches, surface pitting, or failing to achieve the desired gloss. The polishing process helps eliminate these imperfections, ensuring the finished product has a smooth, shiny surface that meets technical requirements.

✔️ Minimizes Aluminum Sticking to the Mold: By polishing the mold before mass production, the risk of issues such as aluminum sticking to the mold, inconsistent products, or non-uniform surfaces can be significantly reduced. This helps lower the defect rate, saves raw materials, and reduces repair costs.

✔️ Increases Production Efficiency: A well-polished mold ensures a smoother production process. The mold’s smooth surface allows material to flow evenly and quickly, thereby shortening cooling times and accelerating production speed. Polishing molds not only saves time but also reduces energy consumption, increasing overall production efficiency.

✔️ Reduces Frictional Impact and Extends Mold Lifespan: Molds that are not properly maintained and polished will wear out quickly, leading to production issues and reducing their lifespan. Polishing molds helps protect the mold surface, minimizes the impact of frictional forces and high temperatures, thereby extending the mold’s lifespan and saving costs associated with replacing new molds.

2. Dynamo is a comprehensive manufacturer of aluminum die-casting molds, and we offer three types of surface finishes to meet customer needs: mirror polishing, vertical polishing, and EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) texturing.

👉 2.1. Fine Polish/鏡面: This ensures a surface roughness of Ra ≤ 0.05µm, Rz ≤ 0.4µm, creating a mirror-like shiny surface that helps molds operate smoothly and eliminates issues related to frictional wear.

👉 2.2. Draw Polish/磨き立て日: This polishing process is performed along the Pin (or parallel to the drawing direction), ensuring a surface roughness of Ra ≤ 0.1µm, Rz ≤ 0.5µm. This helps create an evenly polished surface without defects, making it easy to release the product from the mold.

👉 2.3. EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) Texturing: We are currently using a SparkOepo surface texturing machine based on the principle of spark discharge. This method can meet requirements for wear resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and oxidation resistance.

All products undergo visual surface quality inspection and precise, fast measurement using the high-accuracy Mitutoyo SJ-310 surface roughness tester before reaching the customer.
